Saskatoon’s Dave Adolph was announced as the recipient of the Jean-Marie de Koninck Coaching Excellence Award at the 2024 U SPORTS Honours Awards on June 12, in Calgary.
Adolph was recognized for his contributions as a men’s hockey coach for 31 seasons. He started his journey in 1989 with the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns, before transitioning to work with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies in 1993 until his retirement in 2020.
As the head coach of the Huskies, he led the team to seven Canada West Championships, as well as to two silver and one bronze medals at the University Cup.
Adolph also led Canada to success on the international stage at the 1996 Nagano Cup in Japan, where the team placed second.
In addition, he was named the U SPORTS men’s hockey coach of the year in 2017.
