A home study course is just that — a course you study at home, on your own time and you are assigned a Learning Facilitator to act as a tutor if you have questions or require clarification.

Home study courses are available for the Competition-Introduction Multi-sport Modules and the Competition-Development Multi-sport Modules of the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP).

To be eligible for any NCCP home study courses you must:

  • Be interested in coaching or actively coaching
  • Have extenuating circumstances (see definition below) that prohibit you from completing the courses online or in-person
  • Recommended prerequisite: Competition-Introduction Trained (for those wishing to access Competition-Development courses)

Definition

Extenuating Circumstances are circumstances which prevent a coach from accessing a regular workshop due to lack of availability during scheduled workshops or due to geographic location or distance.
