
After guiding two divers through the Olympic Games in Paris, Mary Carroll was named Coach of the Year. She was selected to attend the Games as one of two Team Canada coaches and was recognized for her efforts by the Coaching Association of Canada with a 2024 Petro-Canada Coaching Excellence Award. In addition, Mary has coached numerous athletes to reach success at national and international competitions.
Carroll was announced as a recipient for the awards on Jan. 30 at Prairieland Park in Saskatoon, which also celebrated another five recipients in the Excellence Awards categories and eight in the Recognition Award categories.
Volleyball coach and mentor Tony Fineblanket received an Inspire Through Sport Award, while Carla Nicholls (athletics), David Calam (lawn bowling) and Denise Fernandez (tennis) were handed Coach Dedication Awards for their 10 plus years of giving back in their sport.
