The Coaches Association of Saskatchewan is saddened by the passing of longtime coach Don Clark.
Don spent many years coaching, primarily in wrestling, but also made an impact on Saskatchewan’s coaching system with his work on the Advanced Coaching Diploma and other projects.
Throughout his life, Don was recognized for his service many times, including entries into multiple sports hall of fames, a Sask Sport volunteer recognition award in 1983, the Canadian Amateur Wrestling Association’s Maple Leaf Award in 1997 and the Wrestling Canada Lutte Outstanding Contribution Award in 2022.
The latter award was presented to Don on behalf of Wrestling Canada by former CAS Executive Director David Robertson in Regina alongside Sask Sport’s Excellence in Sport Lead, Kia Schollar. Video footage from the presentation as well as a story on Don’s long and decorated career can be found here.
