Nicholas Baker

The Coaches Association of Saskatchewan (CAS) is pleased to introduce Nicholas Baker as the new Executive Director for the organization.

A long-time coach and recent graduate in sport coaching, Baker will begin in his role with CAS on Aug. 2. Baker will also fulfill the role of Coaching Development Lead with Sask Sport.

“We are excited to welcome Nicholas Baker to the Coaches Association of Saskatchewan,” said Sue Schmidt, Chair of the CAS Board of Directors.

“Nicholas’ passion for sport, coupled with his tremendous background in both education and practice will serve as a tremendous asset for the organization. He understands the potential of sport and how it can improve communities and help instill values.”

Baker recently completed his Master of Science in Sports Coaching at the Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, England. Baker has long been involved in rugby in England, having coached the Eastern Rhinos Rugby League Club for more than 10 years.

While his roots are in the United Kingdom, Baker is no stranger to Saskatchewan. He previously served as Facility Supervisor with the City of Regina. He also has served as an Outdoor Education Instructor with Essex Outdoors.

“I am excited and grateful for this opportunity to work with both Sask Sport and the Coaches Association of Saskatchewan,” said Baker. “I look forward to joining an experienced team of individuals and building upon the great work carried out by both organizations in their missions to improve sport delivery throughout Saskatchewan.”
