Offered as a workshop through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP)\, its content reflects the uniqueness of Indigenous cultures\, values\, and lifestyles and is rolled out in three modules:\nAboriginal Coaching Module 1: Holistic Approach to Coaching \nThis module encompasses topics such as: \n• Creating a positive coaching environment\n• The Medicine Wheel: a holistic approach to coaching that embraces the physical\, mental\, emotional\, intellectual\, cultural and spiritual.\n• The Four Pillars value system.\n• How to create constructive coach-to-community relationships. \nAboriginal Coaching Module 2: Dealing with Racism In Sport \nThis module addresses issues of racism in sport including: \n• Defining racism; a lexicon for use in the discussion of racism.\n• Risk monitoring\, assessment analysis and mitigation.\n• Situational learning and application. \nAboriginal Coaching Module 3: Individual and Community Health and Wellness \nThis module focuses on the unique lifestyle\, health situations and challenges that Aboriginal people may face. DESCRIPTION:The NCCP Performance Planning module allows coaches to reflect on the structure of a yearly plan and appropriately sequence training and development priorities so as to achieve peak performance in their athletes. \nThis module is an ideal follow-up to the NCCP Design a Basic Sport Program module. It is recommended that coaches take both the NCCP Design a Basic Sport Program and the NCCP Developing Athletic Abilities modules before taking the NCCP Performance Planning module. \nAfter completing the NCCP Performance Planning module\, you will be able to: \n\nperform a thorough analysis of the demands of your athletes’ sport at the elite (high performance) level;\noutline a program structure based on training and competition opportunities;\nidentify appropriate measures for promoting athlete development within our own program;\nintegrate yearly training priorities into your own program;\norganize and sequence training priorities and objectives on a weekly basis to optimize adaptations; and\nevaluate the ability of your athletes or team to perform up to their potential in competition.\n\nNote: this module includes a pre-workshop task. \nDuration:  12.5 hours \n

DESCRIPTION:For individual training sessions to effectively contribute to the overall objectives of an annual training plan\, a coach must understand the outcome of each training session and how their cumulative effects will contribute to athletic development. \nThe NCCP Advanced Practice Planning module examines the impact of daily training sequencing\, and the manipulations that can affect training outcomes. \nThis module is an ideal follow-up to NCCP Planning a Practice.
